From Roses to Ritual: My Journey with Scent

I’ve loved scent for as long as I can remember,

As a very young child, I would sit in awe in my parents’ garden, utterly enchanted by the roses when they were in bloom. Their scent was intoxicating—soft, sweet, and completely magical. I loved it so much that I desperately wanted to be that scent. One day, I gathered rose petals and added them to water, hoping to create a potion that would capture the essence of those flowers. It didn’t quite work—but the seed was planted. That was my very first experiment in perfumery. I didn’t know it at the time, but that innocent moment of wonder would grow into something much deeper—a lifelong reverence for the power of scent.

Scent has always been more than just fragrance to me. When it’s made with real plants, free from synthetic chemicals, it becomes something else entirely. It becomes a gift. A form of energy. A way to connect—with nature, with memory, and with ourselves. When we use plant-based scent with intention, it becomes a tool for healing and transformation. Whether it’s to calm the mind, uplift the spirit, or ground the body, each note holds a purpose. It’s not just about smelling beautiful—it’s about feeling something.

Set your intention. Breathe it in. Let the plants do the rest
